Secretaries to the Cabinet

Mr. Patrick K. Kangwa Current Position: Secretary to the Cabinet - Cabinet Office, Government of the Republic of Zambia, December 2022 to date. As Secretary to the Cabinet, I am the Head of the Public Service in Zambia and Chief Advisor to the President on administrative matters. In this capacity, my primary responsibilities include coordinating the effective implementation of Government policies, systems, and procedures. I am actively involved in the monitoring and evaluation of the overall performance of the Public Service to ensure efficient administration of Government Affairs. Previous Position: Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Administration) – Cabinet Office, Government of Zambia - September 2017 – December 2022. Before assuming the role of Secretary to the Cabinet, I served as Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Administration). During this tenure, I played a key role in managing administrative functions within Cabinet Office, contributing to the seamless execution of government initiatives and policies. Between August 2012 and September 2017, I served as National Coordinator - Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit. In the capacity of National Coordinator at Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit, I led efforts in disaster response, management, and mitigation. This role involved strategic planning and coordination to enhance Zambia's resilience to disasters, ensuring a swift and effective response to emergencies. This profile reflects my commitment to public service and my dedication to contributing to the effective governance and administration of Zambia. I bring a wealth of experience in leadership, strategic planning, and crisis management to drive positive outcomes for the government and the citizens of Zambia.
