• The ZCSTA was established in 2013 following the need to harmonize and centralize air travel in the public service. The Agency was operationalized under Cabinet Office Circular Minute dated 25th February 2013. It operated as a department under Cabinet Office until it was established as an Agency through Gazette Notice no. 484 of 2021. The Agency is registered with PACRA by guarantee as a non-profit making institution and is accredited to International Air Transport Association (IATA). By its accreditation, the Agency is amenable to the rules and regulations given by IATA as an international regulator for all travel agents.
• ZCSTA was created to effectively manage domestic and international air travels by Public Service Officers in order to facilitate rational use of Government resources as well as to regulate travel abroad. It ensures accountability, transparency and efficiency in the procurement of air tickets and chartering of flights.
