Yesterday, 22nd June, 2024, the Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr. Patrick Kangwa, along with other senior Government officials, toured various stands at the Africa Public Service Day 2024 commemoration held at East Park Mall in Lusaka.
The event showcased a wide range of services provided by Government ministries, agencies, and some private sector organizations. Highlights included:
✅ Exhibitions and public discussions
✅ Showcasing public services and technological innovations
✅ On-the-spot services such as health, education, pensions, and national registration
✅ Meaningful dialogue with the private sector, civil society, and stakeholders
This year’s African Public Service Day was commemorated under the theme “Empowering a Citizen-Centric Public Service for an Inclusive and Thriving 21st Century Africa: A Journey of Lifelong Learning and Technological Transformation.”
Cabinet Office is the highest administrative Office in Zambia with an overarching responsibility of superintending over the Public Service to achieve national strategic objectives. Cabinet Office is also responsible for the attainment of the general efficiency and effectiveness of the Public Service. It derives its mandate from Article (176) of the Constitution of Zambia Act No. 2 of 2016.
