The President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, has accorded an Official Funeral to the late former Cabinet Minister in the MMD Government. Hon. Edith Zewelani Nawakwi who died on Monday, 7th April ,2025 in South Africa.
This is in recognition of the selfless contributions made by the Late Hon. Nawakwi to the National Development of the country when she served as a Cabinet Minister from 1993 to 2001.
Hon. Nawakwi served in the Ministry of Energy and Water Development, Agriculture and Fisheries and Labor and Social Security. She also saved us the first female Minister of Finance and Economic Development in the Country. Read more
