Cabinet Office is the highest administrative office in the Public Service responsible for coordinating the effective implementation of Government policies, systems and procedures and the monitoring and evaluation of the overall performance of the Public Service for the efficient administration of Government. It operates directly under the Office of the President of the Republic of Zambia.

MANDATE OF CABINET OFFICE

The mandate of Cabinet Office is derived from Article 176 (1) of the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Act No. 2 of 2016, Cap 1 of the Laws of Zambia. It comprises the following:-

  • Office of the Secretary to the Cabinet;
  • Administration Division;
  • Management Development Division (MDD);
  • Policy Analysis and Coordination Division (PAC);
  • Office of the Former Presidents;
  • Reform Coordination Division;
  • SMART Zambia Institute (E-Government Division); and
  • Remuneration Division

 MISSION STATEMENT FOR CABINET OFFICE

In order to effectively fulfil its mandate, Cabinet Office is guided by the following Mission Statement:

“To effectively and efficiently coordinate and oversee Government policies and programmes and facilitate the conduct of Cabinet business in order to secure the general efficiency of the Public Service”
